Mary Ann was born Nov. 26, 1922, to Peter and Theresa (Hegge) Tramp in Menominee. She grew up in the Menominee area. She married Lawrence F. Arens Jan. 25, 1944, in Crofton. He died No. 30, 1998. After their marriage, they farmed southwest of Crofton. They moved into Crofton in 1970. She had worked for Gurney Seed & Nursery Co. and Dale Electronics in Yankton. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, an EME, a member of the Ministry of Praise, a member of the Christian Mothers and a former Parish Council member. She was instrumental in helping her husband develop the Crofton Lakeview Golf Course. She enjoyed crocheting, golfing, bowing, card playing and Nebraska football. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Larry and Ann Arens, Crofton; and Judy and Steve Boesch, Longmont, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bernie (Sharon) Asbra, Laurel; eight grandchildren, Amy Diefenderfer; Shawn Arens; Patrick, Kelly, Trisha and Todd Arens; Jeremy and Adam Wysuph; two great grandchildren, Kayle and Colton Diefenderfer; three brothers, Giles Tramp, Gretna; Alvin Tramp, Omaha; and Jerome Tramp, Omaha; and one sister, Joan Cook, Leeds, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Cletus and Ron Arens; one grandson, Drew Foster; one sister, Frances Arens; three brothers, Art, Donald, and Linus Tramp; an infant sister, Angeline Tramp; and an infant brother, Dennis Tramp.
