She was born on February 9, 1938, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to William and Bernice (Blake) Wassmuth. Mary Ann graduated from West Tech High School in Des Moines in 1956, and then went on to further her education at Drake University. Read More	Mary Ann Yarnes, age 72, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Spirit Lake, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009, at the Hospice of Arizona in Sun City, Arizona. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to William and Bernice (Blake) Wassmuth. Mary Ann graduated from West Tech High School in Des Moines in 1956, and then went on to further her education at Drake University. She was united in marriage to Harry Yarnes on January 19, 1974, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Harry passed away in 1998. Mary Ann worked as the Dickinson County Coordinator for domestic abuse. She enjoyed spending her spare time working with flowers, fishing at her camp ground in Montevideo, Minnesota, and working with pottery, which she also taught in Arizona. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Marcy Savage, and her husband, Paul, of Spirit Lake; a son, Jeff Lewis of Centerville, Virginia; a son-in-law, Ken Bailey of Spirit Lake; three brothers, Dale Wassmuth, and his wife, Carol, of Lincoln City, Oregon, Paul Wassmuth, and his wife, Anita, of Sun City, Arizona, and Larry Schroeder of Sun City, Arizona; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; a daughter, JJ Bailey; two sisters; and two brothers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Schuchert Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, October 2, from 5:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. at the Schuchert Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. ----------
