Mr. and Mrs. White lived in Vermont until their removal to Dane county, Wisconsin, march 26, 1863. They resided there until their removal to Iowa, October 16, 1869, and since that time have made their home in the vicinity of Victor. Mrs. White passed to the higher life, September 12, 1904. Mr. and Mrs. White lived in Vermont until their removal to Dane county, Wisconsin, march 26, 1863. They resided there until their removal to Iowa, October 16, 1869, and since that time have made their home in the vicinity of Victor. Mrs. White passed to the higher life, September 12, 1904. She leaves her husband and two surviving daughters, Mrs. Harriet Smith and Mrs. Mariam Hewitt, one daughter having died in infancy and a son in young manhood. Mrs. White was a good mother and a faithful wife. No higher tribute than that can be paid to any woman. She had long been a sufferer and this transition from the body was a blessed liberation for her. There is a certain fitness and appropriateness in the passing to the other side of one who has spent so many years here, and has traveled so long in life's twilight. It is an occasion for joy and not for sorrow. And yet there is always a sadness even in such a death. But the minor strain of earth's sadness makes eternity's music all the more inaffibly sweet.
