She was born July 25, 1942, in Ottumwa to Royden H. and Mildred Johnson Wilson. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1960, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1964, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a Phi Betta Kappa member. Her master's degree was earned at California State University and her doctorate from Drake University. She taught English and speech in the Writers Workshop at the University of Houston and was author of two books, one of the books being, "The New American Family." She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa. She is survived by a daughter, Heidi Frahm of Ottumwa; a son, Bradley Frahm of Dallas, Texas; and her mother, Myldred Wilson of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her father. The service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Edward Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at the Reece Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Russell Benson, Ralph Eaton, Jack Heinje, Lloyd Lawson, Dale Thompson and Larry Wheeler.
