Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Zion English Lutheran church in West Union on Tuesday afternoon last week, for Mrs. Chris Martin, who passed away at the home of her son, Herbert Martin, on Saturday, May 27, at the age of eighty-two years, one month and thirteen days. Rev. Carl Bartels officiated and burial was made in the West Union cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born on April 14, 1862, at Naperville, 111., and came with her parents to Iowa when only four years old. She lived here until grown to womanhood and then went to Nebraska where she was married to Chris Martin. They lived in that state for seventeen years before returning to Iowa. Rev. Carl Bartels officiated and burial was made in the West Union cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born on April 14, 1862, at Naperville, 111., and came with her parents to Iowa when only four years old. She lived here until grown to womanhood and then went to Nebraska where she was married to Chris Martin. They lived in that state for seventeen years before returning to Iowa. They farmed near West Union for some years and then moved to town where they lived for twelve years. For the past few years they have been living with their son at Clermont. Mrs. Martin had been in failing health since last fall and for two weeks preceding her death she was confined to bed. Among the survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. P. M. Grimes of West Union, Mrs. R. A. Dubbert of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. John Weidemann of Lodi, Calif., and two sons, Herbert of Clermont, and Richard of Des Moines. She is also survived by several grandchildren and four brothers, Will Klinger of Salmon, Idaho, Henry Klinger of Roseburg, Oregon, Ed Klinger of Hancock, Minn., and Simon Klinger of West Union.
