Description	:	Mrs. Mary Wolber-Appenzeller was born July 21, 1862, in Shiltach, Baden, Germany and departed from this life at the age 68 years, 10 months and 20 days, at her home in Woodward, Iowa. At the age of 19 years she and only her sister, Anna, came with their parents, Jacob and Anna Wilber to Como, Illinois where she made her home until September 24, 1884, when she united in marriage to Jacob Appenzeller of Bouton, Iowa. To this union were born 14 children, two children, Frank and Edward died in infancy. She is survived by three sons, and nine daughters... At the age of 19 years she and only her sister, Anna, came with their parents, Jacob and Anna Wilber to Como, Illinois where she made her home until September 24, 1884, when she united in marriage to Jacob Appenzeller of Bouton, Iowa. One sister, Mrs. Anna Walters resides at Woodbine, Iowa, and was unable to be present. The sons are Elmer of Granger, Walter of Woodward and Fred of Des Moines. The daughters are Mrs. Herman H. Meier of Perry, Mrs. Marion F. Parks of Boone, Mrs. Henry P. Hansen of Bouton, Mrs. George Wolber Kiester,Minnesota, Mrs. Charles W. Dissinger of Bouton, Mrs. W. J. of Peoples of Woodward, Mrs. Frank Duffy of Boone, Mrs. Harold Thornburg of Bouton and Mrs. Francis Ballentine fo Boone. The greater part of her life was spent on a farm north of Bouton but after the death of Mr. Appenzeller four years ago she moved to Woodward, where she established her home. During that time she kept in touch with her life-long friends and neighbors, and made new friends. Her life had its joys and sorrows but through it all she led her children and that her life was fruitful can be understood by the esteem in which they are held by those who know the, She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church, and attended regularly as long her health would permit. the funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist Church where a large concourse of sorrowing friends gathered to pay their last respects. Rev. Bunge of Grimes spoke words of comfort and mixed quartet composed of O.C. Miller, Mrs. Cunningham, Mrs. Wm Cooper and Frank Vernon with Mrs. F. G. Cooper at the piano sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus""Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The flower girls were Geraldine and Corinne Dissinger, Ardith Hansen, Bernice Greve. The active pall bearers where Henry Hansen, Harold Thornburg, Frank Duffy, Francis Ballentine, Charles Dissinger and William Peoples. Honorary pall bearers, Marion Parks and Herman Meier all whom are son in laws. Interment at Peoples Cemetery Contributor: Tatum Anthony (50441836)
