Description	:	Mrs. J.F. Bryson, an old time resident of this city and community, passed away at her home here about 11 o'clock Wednesday night, following a stroke which she suffered the night before. She had been in failing health for a number of years. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Mary King was bom in Tioga county, Pa., Jan. 19, 1856, and died Aug. 7, 1929, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 18 days. She came to Iowa with her parents in her youth. Mary King was bom in Tioga county, Pa., Jan. 19, 1856, and died Aug. 7, 1929, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 18 days. She came to Iowa with her parents in her youth. On April 10, 1878, she was united in marriage with J.F. Bryson in Linn county, Iowa. The family came to Hawarden on Jan, 1, 1884, and two or three years later settled on some railroad land, four miles south of Chatsworth, to which they later secured homestead rights after some litigation. About twenty-five years ago they left the farm and moved to Hawarden and their home has since been in this city. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Clara Tucker of Beaver Dam, Wis.; Mrs. Ida Schuster of Fig Garden, Calif.; Joe and Frank Bryson of Hawarden, and Will Bryson of Brooklyn, N.Y. One son, John Bryson, died in 1915, and his twin sister died in infancy. She also leaves three brothers, Clinton King in California, Ed. King in Canada and Henry King in California, besides fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The sympathy of the community goes out to the members of the family in their bereavement.
