"Aunt Mary" as she was affectionately called by all of the residents of the north side of the county was probably the oldest resident of the county. Mrs. Davis was born in the house where she died and lived all but one year and a half of her life there. It would be hard to find a home anywhere that contained as much old furniture. The china, a spinet, old fashioned four poster beds, all the old furniture of her parents was loved and treasured by her. The funeral services were held at the Centerfield church Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Levi Mills of Wilmington. The church was filled with sorrowing friends and relatives who dearly loved and respected Mrs. Davis. Mrs. Teachnor of Leesburg read during the services "Out At Old Aunt Mary's," James Whitcomb Riley's touching verses. Rev. Mills paid a tender tribute to Mrs. Davis dwelling upon her many Christian virtues, her charity and her true kindliness. Interment was made in the Centerfield Cemetery.
