Woods and police officers broke the lock on the door to get into the apartment. The body of mrs. Kirkpatrick was partially on the bed in the bedroom. The electricity was off in the apartment. A clock in the pantry was stopped at 1 37. Newspapers for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday had not been picked up. Officers said there Are indications Kirkpatrick fell backward in the living room striking the Back of his head on a plug in an electrical outlet on the North Wall. The plug was shattered but the pins were still hanging in the fixture. Police said corresponding Marks were found on the Back of Kirkpatrick a head. Capt. Hugh Mcelroy said when he and the landlord entered the apartment they found no signs of violence and no weapons. He said police do not believe anyone outside the apartment was connected with the deaths and even though the autopsies had not been completed this morning he expressed the opinion the deaths were from natural causes. James Stanton Kirkpatrick 67, was a retired Ottumwa water works master Mechanic employed there for 41 years. He was born April 16, 1906, in Ottumwa to James and Lydia Kitterman Kirkpatrick. He married Mary Mcaloon in 1935. Surviving is one brother Donald Kirkpatrick of Ottumwa. Mary Belle Kirkpatrick 67, was a former school teacher and employee of John Morrell and co. She was born oct. 18,1905, in Ottumwa to Andrew and Belle Clifford Mcaloon. Her survivors include two Sisters mrs. Bess Johnson of Ottumwa and mrs. Margaret marked of Rock Island 111. The service will be Friday at to . At the Jay funeral Home. The father Richard Leonard of St. Mary a Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
