Ledbetter, age 88, formerly of Shelbyville, MO, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, at approximately 5:30 am at the Elmwood Nursing Home in Maryville, IL. She was born September 3, 1919, in Redfield, South Dakota, the daughter of Burdette N. and Elizabeth McDaniel Sowers. She was united in marriage to Ross Ledbetter. He preceded her in death. Mary is survived by two children, William Michael Ledbetter of Sacramento, CA and Daniel Newton Ledbetter of Troy, IL and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters. Mary was a Christian by Faith and formerly taught at North Shelby High School. She taught at several high schools in the Midwest and at the age of 60 obtained her nursing degree. She pursued that career until her retirement. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Shelby Memorial Cemetery in Shelbyville, MO. Burial will be in Shelby Memorial Cemetery.
