Description	:	Additional information provided by Rebecca Brubaker Freeman on 21 April 2015 - Mary’s obituary published in The Gospel Messenger, July 25, 1942, page 26: "Turner, Mary Catharine, oldest daughter of Frank and Sarah Pike, was born near Polo, Ill., Feb. 18, 1859, and died at the home of her daughter near Maxwell Iowa, June 28, 1942. When a young girl she came with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm south of Maxwell. She was united in marriage to Lyman Turner on Sept. 27, 1881. To this union were born six children. Read More	Additional information provided by Rebecca Brubaker Freeman on 21 April 2015 - Mary’s obituary published in The Gospel Messenger, July 25, 1942, page 26: "Turner, Mary Catharine, oldest daughter of Frank and Sarah Pike, was born near Polo, Ill., Feb. 18, 1859, and died at the home of her daughter near Maxwell Iowa, June 28, 1942. When a young girl she came with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm south of Maxwell. She was united in marriage to Lyman Turner on Sept. 27, 1881. To this union were born six children. Two sons preceded her in death, as did also her husband. In addition to her children she is survived by one brother, one sister, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. After the death of her husband she brought her small children to Maxwell and made her home in this community ever since. When a young girl she united with the Church of the Brethren and remained a faithful member to the end. For some time it had been hard for her to attend church because of her hearing and physical disability. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of the Brethren south of Maxwell by her pastor, J. D. Brower; burial was in the Brethren cemetery near by. – J. D. Brower, Maxwell, Iowa." Additional information provided by Rebecca Brubaker on 4/15/15 - Mary Catharine Pike Turner was the oldest daughter of Frank and Sarah Pike. She was born near Polo, Illinois. She married Lyman Turner on September 27, 1881. Mary & Lyman had 6 children.
