Mrs. Basler was born Aug. 25, 1906, in Lake View, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph William and Estole (McClinton) Hartman. She married Elmer D. Basler on Aug. 6, 1924, in Yetter, Iowa. He died Dec. 24, 1962. She had lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa, until 1981, when she moved to Ellensberg, Wash. In 1997, she moved to South Sioux City. She was employed with Fantles and Sears in Fort Dodge and was a homemaker. Survivors include a son and his wife, D. Daryl and Sally; a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Don; a brother and his wife, Paul and Sharon; nine grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
