Mary Chaplin, daughter of Notley and Margaret Chaplin, was born August 15, 1855, in Van Buren county and died Monday at a home near Keosauqua where she was being cared for. She was married Dec. 10, 1874, to William H. Parker, who died September 10, 1895. They spent most of their married life on a farm two miles southwest of Cantril. After his death she moved to Cantril and later to Milton, where she resided as long as she was able to care for herself. A son, Arthur G., died in 1934. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clem Knox of Santa Ana, Calif., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
