Caslavka Was Resident of Tama County Since 1880 and of Traer for Thirty-Seven Years A heart attack early Thursday morning caused the sudden death of Mrs. Frank Caslavka at her home in southeast Traer. Although she had been a sufferer from neuritis for several years, her condition was never considered very serious until heart trouble developed a few days ago. Even then she seemed to rally from the first attack and was up and about the house each day. A bout 2:30 o’clock yesterday morning she was again suddenly stricken and was dead before a physician could be called. The funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Methodist church here. The Rev. H. W. Singer, pastor, is expected to officiate. Burial will be in the St. Vaclav cemetery near Clutier. Mrs. Caslavka’s maiden name was Mary Chess. She was born in Bohemia 75 years ago. She came with her parents to America when only 2 years old and lived on a farm near Luzerne, Ia., until 1880, when she was united in marriage to Frank Caslavka. The couple farmed for a number of years in Carroll and Howard townships, Tama county. Thirty-seven years ago, they moved to Traer, which has been the family home ever since. Mr. Caslavka died in January 1915. Surviving relatives include six living children—Mrs. Miles E. Fora, of Long Beach, Cal.; Annett, of Canoga Park, Cal.; and Mary, Joe, Charles, and Emil, all of Traer. One son, Frank, died when 11 years old. A sister, Mrs. Anne Michalek, of Bradgate, la., also survives. Two brothers preceded Mrs. Caslavka in death. With the death of Mrs. Caslavka all those who knew her suffer a distinct loss. H er kind and generous interest in her friends and neighbors never lagged, even in her later years of impaired health, and she was always a devoted m other to her family.
