Read More	Mary Cora Goodell, age 93, of Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Isis Cora (Clark) Ewing, was born March 18, 1923, in rural Wayne County, Iowa. She died at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. On January 8, 1945, Mary was united in marriage to William Horace Goodell in Chariton, Iowa. They made their home in rural Humeston, Iowa. They were blessed with one son, Dana. In 1993, they sold the farm and retired to Corydon. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Humeston then the United Methodist Church in Corydon. She was active in the women’s groups in both churches and taught Sunday school in Humeston. Mary loved her flowers and garden. In earlier years, she and William had 7500 laying hens and she graded the eggs. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker to her family. She was a neat lady, where everything had to be prim and proper. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William in 1998; and brother, Carrolton Ewing and wife, Doris. Survivors include her son, Dana Goodell and wife, Lorna of Sioux City, Iowa; grandson, Andrew Goodell of Sioux City; niece Kay Fry and husband, Tom of Corydon; nephew, Ted Ewing and wife, Judy of Russell, Iowa; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Corydon United Methodist Church in Corydon, Iowa with Pastor Buck Buckhahn officiating. Burial will be in the Corydon Cemetery, Corydon, Iowa.
