Read More	Albany - June 16 -- Friends were saddened late Monday to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Mary Cotton Baker, 82, who died at 3:15 o'clock at her home here. Though Mrs. Baker's illness had covered a period of two years, and every day sapped her failing strength, her death was unexpected at the time. Mary Cotton Baker was the last of the Robert Cotton family, a pioneer family of Athens County. The father came to Ohio from New Jersey, and the mother Blanche Cleland Cotton, came from Ireland in 1817. Other members of this family were the late R. J. Cotton of Nelsonville and the late H. M. Cotton, Athens, brothers of Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Baker was born at Marshfield in 1843, where she spent her childhood days. until 1867, when she was united in marriage to Henry Baker, at which time they went to the Baker settlement, north of Albany, to live on a farm. Their children were a son and daughter who died in infancy. The late Mrs. J. Everett Cline (Blanche Baker), who preceded her parents in death in 1919, and Miss Faye Baker, who has been the faithful companion at home for the last fourteen years. The husband and father, Henry Baker, died in March 1919. In her youth Mrs. Baker became a member of the Methodist Church at Union, and had been a conistent Christian loved by all who knew her as "Aunty" Baker, Of her family there are two grandchildren. Misses Faye and Hazel Cline; three nephews, A . J. Cotton, Nelsonville, Emmett Cotton, Athens, and Tom Cotton, lately of Athens; and Mrs. John Henry, Athens, a niece. Funeral services will be conducted at the home by the Rev. Stanley Roush, of the M. E. Church, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
