Description	:	Mrs. Riggins, 96, entered her heavenly home on March 11, 2017. She was the widow of the Reverend R. D. Riggins. Born June 3, 1920 in Indian Trail. She was the daughter of Richard and Bessie Tomberlin. In 1987 she graduated from Indian Trail High School, was an avid athlete, was a member of the Indian Trail ladies basketball team and was a forward for the Indian Trail State Basketball Championship team. In 1987 she graduated from Indian Trail High School, was an avid athlete, was a member of the Indian Trail ladies basketball team and was a forward for the Indian Trail State Basketball Championship team. She attended Miller Mont Business College. Mary served in many churches as a pastors wife, Sunday School teacher, Choir Director and member, Vacation Bible school director and many areas of Missions Ministry. She was a faithful student of the Holy Bible and prayer warrior. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. Mary was a loving homemaker, seamstress, mother and grandmother. Her gracious personality, wit and love for family and friends were her outstanding qualities. Survivors include sons, Gerald D. Riggins and wife Lois of Anderson, SC, John R. Riggins, Mt. Gilead, Eugene T. Riggins, of Charlotte; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Rick, John Richard, Melanie and Gina Dee Riggins and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert and Neil Tomberlin; sisters, Bernice T. Warlice Baird, Janice T. Killian, and Margaret T. “Gettie” Shaffer and Franses T. Vickery. Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Tuesday, March 14th at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail officiated by Reverend Mike Whitson.
