Mrs. Haselden was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Cox Nathaniel and Georgia Lola Bell Moore Dennis. She was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church where she served as a former president of Scranton United Methodist Women and teacher of the Fred Parrot Sunday School Class. Read More	SCRANTON " Mary Dennis Haselden, 84, widow of the late Thomas Eugene Haselden, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at her home after an illness. Mrs. Haselden was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Cox Nathaniel and Georgia Lola Bell Moore Dennis. She was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church where she served as a former president of Scranton United Methodist Women and teacher of the Fred Parrot Sunday School Class. Mrs. Haselden was a member of the VFW and former Worthy Matron of Lake City Eastern Star Chapter 110. She was a retired Rural Mail Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, master gardener and member of several garden clubs. Survivors includ four daughters, Shelby Keith (LaRue) Kirby of Lake City, Deloris Keith (Delano) James of Coward, Carolyn Keith Humphrey of Scranton and Denise Haselden (Glen) Ruthven of Lake City; two sisters, Frances D. Ussery and Polly D. Miller, both of Scranton; eight grandchildren, Roger K. (Pam) Kirby and Cheryl K. (Ted) Walter, both of Lake City, Maria E. James, Michael B. James and Maxie T. (Lisa) James, all of Scranton, Dee J. (Shawn) Hoehn of Florence, Laura C. Ruthven and Mary Thomas Ruthven, both of Lake City; and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Haselden was predeceased by her husbands Thomas Eugene Haselden of Scranton and Maxie Benjamin Keith of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Maxine Keith Jowers of Selma, Ala.; a son, Maxie Benjamin Keith Jr. of Scranton; one sister, Ruth Dennis Evans of Andrews; and one brother, Carroll N. Dennis of Scranton. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Scranton United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Scranton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159, Scranton, SC 29591. The family will have visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
