Herriman passed to her eternal reward at the family residence. Death was calm and peaceful and she passed painlessly to the glories of the life beyond. Death was calm and peaceful and she passed painlessly to the glories of the life beyond. Never, in the history of humanity, was there ever a woman more highly esteemed in the good opinion of everybody than Mrs. Chas. Herriman for her many deeds of kindness, shown in every home of the sick and needy but for the motherly love shown to little children for ages past. She will be sadly missed by the entire community of Wadena and will long be remembered as one of the most respected ladies of the town. The deceased whose maiden name was Mary Dorland was born in Ashland, Co. Ohio on Sept 30th, 1847 and was married to Chas. Herriman of Wadena on the 16th of Feb. 1867 where they have been honored citizens for over 42 years. She is survived by her husband and eight children, Jesse B. of Trenton, New Jersey, Mrs. Frank Livingston of Lamont, Mrs. Phillp Kraft of Fairbanks, Iowa, Mrs. T. F. Jones of Elkader, Ia., Mrs. L. T. Kendall of Des Moines, Ia., Benjamin J. of South Dakota, Leon and Leo at home, One child (Allidy) died in infancy. The family loses a dutiful wife, a loving mother and as a neighbor, she could not be excelled. The funeral was held on Tuesday and the burial was in the Wadena cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Moore from the scripture text found in St. John 14:2 to a very large congregation of sympathizing friends. Arlington News
