Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Epworth. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where a wake service will be at 4 p.m., and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. She was born on Nov. 7, 1926, in Farley, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Winter) Arlen. She received her education in the rural Farley schools. She married Raymond Leibold on Jan. 14, 1947, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2005, after 55 years of marriage. Mary was a homemaker and was well known throughout the years for helping people celebrate their special occasions by baking beautiful cakes out of her home. Everyone who visited Mary always left with good conversation, good food, a good laugh and a good drink. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, Epworth, its Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Farley American Legion Auxiliary. Mary's greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved their visits and phone calls. Left to carry on her memory are her six children, Larry Leibold, of Gilbert, Ariz., Lynn (John) Nappier, of Kalamazoo, Mich., Bill Leibold, Jim (Patty) Leibold and Ken Leibold, all of Epworth, and JoAnn (Kevin) Schwarting, of Homestead; 16 grandchildren, Nicole, Abram, Cody, Mitch, Kari, Becca, Rachel, Emily, Beth, Mike, Michelle, Chris, Brandon, Tyler, Jess and Natalie; five great-grandsons, Nick, Ben, Isaac, Ty and Beau; six step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rita Arlen, of Dubuque; four brothers-in-law, Charles Leibold, of Earlville, Melvin (Virginia) Leibold, of Dubuque, Don (Ruth) Leibold, of Peosta, and Loras Leibold, of Farley. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Leibold, in infancy; a grandson, Aaron Holroyd, in 1988; two brothers, George (Frances) Arlen and Cletus Arlen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary (Les) White, Emil (Betty) Leibold, Leo Leibold and Irene Leibold.
