Mary was born in Potomac on Nov. 23, 1929the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth K. (Moore) Beam. She attended Alvin schools. She married her true love, Richard C. Brown, on Feb. 12, 1948, in Danville. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1983. Mary worked for the Warren County Highway Department doing road maintenance from 1975-1983.
