She had been as well as usual until the previous evening, when she was taken with a fainting spell from which she remained a few hours unconscious, during which time she showed signs of partial paralysis. Keane died at her home in town Saturday morning at about five o'clock. Her mind cleared up about ten o'clock and apparently she gradually improved until about five o'clock, when she complained of some pain in her chest. A few minutes later she was dead. She had not been in rugged health for several years, but was always active and her sudden passing away was a shock to all. Mrs. Keane (Mary Conway) was born at Hanibal, Mo., April 14, 1861. When a child her parents moved to Clinton, Iowa. In 1875 the family moved to Dunlap and located on a farm about ten miles east of town. There she spent her young woman- hood and on June 12, 1883 was united in marriage with Mr. John W. Keane in St. Patrick's church, Dunlap. To this marriage five children were born, three of them dying in infancy. Those who survive are William of Omaha, and Francis of Chicago. The deceased was in every respect a model Christian woman. All who knew her have been edified by her life which was so full of all that was good and noble. If childlike humility, angelic gentleness, saintly purity and Christ- like charity are virtues that challenge he admiration of all, no wonder that the deceased was universally respected and admired. She will long be remembered as the embodiment of all that is genuinely Christian and therefore of all that goes to make human life elevated and sacred. The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Patrick's churchy An unusually large assemblage of friends were there to pay their last tribute of respect and love toward one whom in life they had known only to respect and revere. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mary is John W Keane's wife. 1900 census she lists her place of birth as Ireland, that she had 6 children of which 2 are living. Those children were William born in December 1885 and Francis born in July 1889 both born in Missouri.
