Green was born in Licking County ,Ohio, May 16, 1852, daughter of Raliegh and Elizabeth Green. She came to Iowa with her parent ' s when but a young girl, settling near Emeline where site resided until her marriage to John H. Doty, in the fall of 1871 Living with him until his death in June 1901. In the month of Sept. 1906, she became the wife or Frank L. Rhoades, residing in Maquoketa for a short time. They then made their home in Woodbury county for 1 year before moving to Lacey, Stanley County, S. ,D., where she resided until her death which occurred at 9:30 in the evening of the 28th of January, 1919, at the ripe age of 66 years, 8 months and 12 days. Besides her husband and two sons; she leaves one sister, Mrs. Harter of Oregon, numerous relatives and a host of friends. In Sept. 1887 she united with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was a faithful member until death. Funeral sermon by Elder John Heide at the Emeline church and laid to rest in the Hickory Grove cemetery Feb. 2, 1919. Six returned soldier were pall bearers, two overseas boys and four of them had not yet gone over. Six stalwart lads in their uniforms. Maquoketa Excelsior Record February 14, 1919 Maquoketa, Iowa.
