Description	:	MRS. LAWRENCE J. (MARY) W1ELAND Mrs. Lawrence J. (Mary) Wieland, 88, of Carroll, died Sunday evening, February 3, at the Carroll Manor Nursing Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, at St. Lawrence church with the Revs. Lawrence McCarty and Bernard Wieland as celebrants. Tom Wieland, a grandson, will be lector; granddaughters Jean Walker, Jacque Pudenz, Dawn Schultes and Connie Wieiana gin-bearers and grandsons Chuck and Pat Wieland and Glenn Pudenz mass-servers. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be grandsons Bill and Steve Wieland, Neil and Rick Pudenz, Mike Schultes and Dan Wieland. Mrs. Wieland is survived by her husband Lawrence J. Wieland,. Carroll; four daughters: Sister Marian Wieland, F.S.P.A., Carroll; Mrs. LaVern (DeloresO~Pudenz, Bemidji, Minn.; Mrs. Leon (Maxine) Schultes, Dedham, and Mrs. Richard (Beatrice) Pudenz, Carroll; two sons: Paul Wieland, Carroll, and Donald Wieland, Carroll; 37 g r a n d c h i l d r e n , 2 2 greatgrandchildren and two step-greatgrandchildren; a sister Mrs. Rose Baumhover, Carroll, and two brothers: Martin Kanne, Dedham, and Ed Kanne, Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Joe, Tony, Bill and Aloys Kanne and three sisters: Theresa Miller, Frances Wegner and Ann Fleskes. Mrs. Wieland was born at Carroll on November 29, 1896, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Wiedemeyer Kanne. She spent her early years in the Mount Carmel area and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel schools. On February 9,1929, she was married to Lawrence J. Wieland at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Mount Carmel, by the Rev. Edward Jungblut. After their marriage, they farmed near Glidden and later east of Carroll. In 1939, they moved to a farm three miles north of Carroll where they lived until 1955 when they retired and moved into Carroll. For the past two and a half years, both have been residents of the Carroll Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Lawrence parish and the Ladies Guild.∼Mary was the daughter of Joseph Kanne and Mary Wiedmeier. She married Lawrence Wieland on Feb 9, 1926 at Mount Carmel, Iowa. They were the parents of Marion, Delores, Maxine, Bea, Paul, and Donald.
