Oxenreider, daughter of John and Sophia Oxenreider, was born in Warren County, Iowa, on Feb. 9, 1870, and departed this life at her home near Norwood, Iowa on July 16, 1940 at age 70 years, 5 months and 7 days. She had been ill for some time, and everything possible was done to restore her to health and for her relief that living hands could do, but to no avail, and on Tuesday afternoon, July 16, the lord took her to her eternal home. Oxenreider, daughter of John and Sophia Oxenreider, was born in Warren County, Iowa, on Feb. 9, 1870, and departed this life at her home near Norwood, Iowa on July 16, 1940 at age 70 years, 5 months and 7 days. She had been ill for some time, and everything possible was done to restore her to health and for her relief that living hands could do, but to no avail, and on Tuesday afternoon, July 16, the lord took her to her eternal home. There is a vacancy in the house which can never be filled, and her smiling face and sunny disposition will be missed by all who knew her. When but a small child she moved with her parents from Warren county to Lucas county, and had lived in and around Norwood until her death. She was married to Riley L. Anderson on October 13, 1891. To this union five children were born, two of whom, Effie and Lectie preceded her in death. Although she affiliated with no church, yet she knew her God, the value of prayer, and was ready and prepared to meet her Savior. She leaves to mourn their loss: her husband, Riley Anderson at home: one son: Wayne Anderson: four grandsons: Cecil, Junior and Merrill Anderson and Harold Roe: one sister: Mrs. C. A. Yoakam of San Jose, Calif., one brother: C. D. Oxenreider of Fordland MO. Besides two children she was preceded in death by her parents: two grandchildren, Merl Dean and Betty Anderson; and one half brother: John Preston, and one half sister, Sarah Pennington. Funeral services, conducted by Mrs. Gladys Martin, were held at the home Thursday afternoon. Selections were sung by Helen Niswender, Velma Niswender, John and Viola Roe, Ramona Whitenack, and Louis Martin. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Burial was in the Norwood cemetery.
