Lynd home near Garland has resulted in the death of Grandma Lynd. Two of the children of Mrs. Alma L. Smith, sister of Mr. Lynd, were first taken down and after their recovery, their mother was stricken with the disease. About the time she began getting better, Grandma Lynd became ill and in a week's time had succumbed to the malady, after it had developed into pneumonia. The death of this good, old lady, who was eighty years and eleven months old, occurred last Saturday morning, March 26th at 2:30 o'clock. The funeral services were held at the home of her son, E.S. Lynd, Monday, conducted by Rev. A.L. Stephens, the Christian minister at Garland and burial was made at the Crown Hill cemetery near Powell. Mary E. Lynd, or Aunt Mary, as she was called by home folks, was born near Campbellsburg, Washington county, Indiana, April 25,1840. Her maiden name was Sallee, descendents of the McCoy Baptist missionaries among the Indians of Daniel Boone days in Indiana and Kentucky. She was married December 22, 1870 to James W. Lynd of Orange County, Indiana, to whom twin sons and a daughter were born, one twin dying in infancy. The other twin, E.S. Lynd and sister Alma L. Smith are yet living here near Garland. There also survive six grandchildren, five of whom were here with her The husband died fourteen years ago. She and her daughter and grandchildren made a trip to Florida in 1918 for the daughter's health, and after staying there for a year and a half, they all came to this section of Wyoming and have since been residing near Garland.
