Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was born on April 18, 1913, in Epworth, daughter of Peter and Ella (Sweeney) Schwendinger. She died after a long illness at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at home. She married Curtis Kedley on May 26, 1942, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade. She was a graduate of the Epworth High School and attended the former Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque where she received her LPN degree. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, Curtis Kedley, of Cascade; two sons, Brother Curtis Kedley, of Glen Mary Holy Mission in Sparta, Ga., and Bruce Kedley, of Cascade; three daughters, Jane (and Charles) Smith, of Epworth, Sharon (and Ronald) Kueter, of Dubuque, and Karen (and Lyle) Tritz, of St. Donatus; 11 grandchildren; and three brothers, James Schwendinger, of Cedar Rapids, and Kenneth and Louis Schwendinger, both of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. A Mary E. Kedley Memorial Fund has been established for Hospice of Dubuque County. Mug - Mary E.
