Description	:	Edith (Varner) Fowler, 84, of Pacolet Mills, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 1, 1921, in Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Walker Varner, Sr. and Lydia (Hawkins) Varner and the wife of the late Foster Albert Fowler. A 1940 graduate of Union High School, she retired from Pacolet Manufacturing Company, was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Minnie Ingles Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Pacolet Senior Citizens Group.... Born April 1, 1921, in Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Walker Varner, Sr. and Lydia (Hawkins) Varner and the wife of the late Foster Albert Fowler. A 1940 graduate of Union High School, she retired from Pacolet Manufacturing Company, was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Minnie Ingles Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Pacolet Senior Citizens Group. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Fowler Hill and her husband Ken of Pacolet Mills, and Diane Fowler Enlow and her husband Edward, of Pacolet; a brother, H. Ray Varner, Sr. and his wife Ibera B. of Rock Hill; three grandsons, Todd Hill and his wife Kim of Spartanburg, Perry Robinson and his wife Anita of Jonesville, and Ronald Robinson of Boiling Springs; a granddaughter, Jennifer H. Deaton and her husband Max of Spartanburg; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Glenn Varner, Ryan Varner, and G. W. Varner, Jr.; and two sisters, Ruby Bennett and Lillie Mae Babb. Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David C. Inman and the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial was in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 427, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373.
