Description	:	"Mary Edna Wyant was the daughter of William S. & Mary 'Walker' Wyant. She was born in Ipava, Illinois. While a young girl she moved with her parents from Illinois and settled in Wayne County, Iowa where she grew up and attended schools there. Mary Edna married James Leighton on 18 Sep. 1873 in Wayne County, Iowa. They had six children. The names of four are: Washtella, Berdella, Palatiah, & James H. Mary Edna married James Leighton on 18 Sep. 1873 in Wayne County, Iowa. They had six children. The names of four are: Washtella, Berdella, Palatiah, & James H. After the death of her husband in 1907, Mary moved back to Wayne County, Iowa to live with her sister and her family. Mary Edna married Thomas Glaze, who was twice a widower, on 14 May 1915. According to the 1915 Kansas State Census, Thomas and Edna were married. Thet were living on a small 12 acre farm just outside of Luray limits where they raised chickens and milked some cows. In a letter in 1923 to her brother, Albert Wyant, she stated she 'had a good man'. This marriage ended with the death of Thomas on 14 Jun 1932. Mary Edna "Wyant" Leighton Glaze died on 9 Sep 1936 a her home in Luray. She is buried next to her 1st husband, James Leighton, in Grand Center Cemetery. (I received the above information from Marjorie GlazeHart Gisi the great granddaughter of Thomas and Mary "Linebarger" Glaze. Mary Edna "Wyant" Leighton was his 3rd wife.)
