Logan on June 13, 1883, in Ottumwa, Iowa. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Daily Courier," Tuesday, December 15, 1936, Page 14: RESIDENT OF COUNTY MANY YEARS DIES Mrs. Mary Effie Logan, 76, nearly a lifetime resident of Ottumwa, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nora Benson, 602 West Mechanic street at 4:20 a.m. today. She was born March 15, 1860, the daughter of John and Jane Jones of Davis county. When an infant, Mrs. Logan came to Wapello county where she lived since. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Benson of Ottumwa; one brother, John Jones of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Mrs. Hazel Clouse, Mrs. Martha Thompson and James Kendall of Ottumwa, and three great grandchildren. Her husband, Will, and two daughters, preceded her in death. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral chapel until 6 p.m. today when the body will be taken to the Benson home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Johnson's funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Luther Childs of Centerville. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
