Description	:	Mary Elaine was born to Billie and Vera (Bishop) Long. She grew up near Hooper and later moved to Sutton, Nebraska where she graduated from high school. Mary received her teacher certification from Midland College and taught in a one-room school near Sutton where she educated the siblings of her future husband, Harold. Mary wed Harold Ehly on April 23, 1954, at the family home in Fremont, Nebraska. They were blessed with four children: Daniel, Rebecca, Thomas and Jonathan. She grew up near Hooper and later moved to Sutton, Nebraska where she graduated from high school. Mary received her teacher certification from Midland College and taught in a one-room school near Sutton where she educated the siblings of her future husband, Harold. Mary wed Harold Ehly on April 23, 1954, at the family home in Fremont, Nebraska. They were blessed with four children: Daniel, Rebecca, Thomas and Jonathan. Mary and Harold lived in Fremont and raised their family until moving to Omaha in 1990. Mary was a highly successful and acclaimed Weight Watcher’s lecturer and mentor to many for several years. Following this, Mary’s interest in interior decorating led her to work for Reiper’s Interiors for several years before starting her own Decorating Den franchise. In 1985, Mary branched out on her own and started Ehly’s Decorating along with her husband Harold until “retiring” from the business in 2008. During her years in Fremont, Mary was active in the Fremont Alliance Church teaching Sunday school, leading Bible studies and singing in the choir. She loved teaching people. She taught not only Bible study classes but also taught decorating classes later in life. She wanted to raise up the next generation of interior decorators to do it right. Many of her students have gone on to successful careers in decorating. Mary was a devoted follower of Christ leading countless people to a faith in Jesus. She treasured time with her family, loved flowers, the color yellow and enjoyed ice cream as often as possible.
