Read More	SOURCE: Greenville News, Page 3 DATE: Tuesday, March 14, 1939 TAYLORS, Mar. 12 - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Campbell Edwards, 70, wife of W.R.C. Edwards, Taylors, Route 2, near Double Springs Baptist Church, died at a Spartanburg Hospital this morning at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of six days. Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of the late Jefferson and Elizabeth Moon Campbell, and was born in North Carolina. When she was a young woman she was married to W.R.C. Edwards. Only a few months ago they celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Edwards was a devoted and faithful member of the Double Springs Baptist Church, was honorary member of the Women's Missionary Society of her Church and was very active in her Church and its congregations. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. J.P. Barbare, Taylors, Route 1; Mrs. J.A. Tate, Greenville, Route 5; Mrs. E.J. Tate and Mrs. C.B. Waters, Taylors, Route 2; John T., E.A., P.D. and W.T. Edwards, Taylors, Route 2; J.C. Edwards, Greenville; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Double Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. J.E. McJunkin, assisted by the Rev. W.H. Harbin, the Rev. C.P. Chastain and the Rev. J.A. Anderson. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers: Charlie Edwards, Gentry Edwards, Elmer Edwards, Roy Edwards, Everett Edwards and Esley Edwards. The Deacons and officers of the Double Springs Baptist Church together with the following were asked to assemble at the Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock to serve as honorary escort; Dr. F.G. James, Dr. W.Y. McDaniel, J.D. Barbare, Ford Bruce, Belton Page, Lawrence Thompson, George Belue and Dewey Arms. The body is at the residence. {transcribed by Kelly Jane Moon O'Hara}
