Cussins (believed to be Mary Elizabeth Cussins) was the daughter of Samuel Cussins (Samuel Cousins) and Mary (believed to be Mary Catherine Frazier, daughter of Wyatt Frazier or she was named Mary Ann Denoon). Mary E. Cussins married Ulisses Grant Wilson (called Grant Wilson). They had one daughter named Maude Anita Wilson, and also one infant child (stillborn according to tradition) that was buried with Mary. Note that some have interprated the headstone as reading 'died ... AGED 28 YS. 22 DS.", though I don't believe this is correct. She was buried in Section 34, Row 6, Lot 2 of the Burch Cemetery, Braddyville, Page County, Iowa. I believe Mary was born 19 January 1867 in Nodaway County, Missouri, and died 10 February 1890 in Page County, Iowa. The supporting evidence for Mary having been born in 1867 include the 1880 U.S. Census for Buchanan Township, Page County, Iowa, dated 2 July 1880, which lists Mary E. Cussins as being aged 13. This would evidence her as being born sometime between 2 July 1866 and 2 July 1867. The 1885 U.S. Special Census for Buchanan Township, Page County, Iowa, lists Mary E. Cussins as aged 17. This would evidence her as being born about 1868. Also the 1870 Census, dated 13th June 1870 lists M. Elizabeth Cussins (some read it as Melissia F. Currim) says she is 1 year old, which would put her birth as 1869. These Censuses conflict slightly but it is truly evident given the ages in the census records that Mary died aged 23 years 22 days, and not 28 years, 22 days.
