Description	:	The daughter of Samuel Fittro and Hannah Webb Fittro. Published in the Carthage Evening Press May 3, 1905 Obituary Mrs. A.L. Norris died at her home near Opolis April 12, of cancer. Miss Mary Fittro grew to womanhood near Kellerton, Iowa having been left motherless when quite young. She was married to Alson L. Norris at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Five daughters were born to this happy union, the youngest being only two and one half years old. She was a member of the Christian church at Opolis at the time of her death. Norris died at her home near Opolis April 12, of cancer. Miss Mary Fittro grew to womanhood near Kellerton, Iowa having been left motherless when quite young. She was married to Alson L. Norris at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Five daughters were born to this happy union, the youngest being only two and one half years old. She was a member of the Christian church at Opolis at the time of her death. She was a good neighbor, a true mother and dutiful wife. Mrs. Norris had been a sufferer for about a year until the "sweet rest" she often spoke of came as a relief. she said she was ready to go to that better world and "Thy will be done." One of her last requests was that her children would attend Sunday school. She fell asleep in Jesus Wednesday morning at 3:15 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted at the family home by J.H. Gould on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Miss Emma Jones accompanied the songs with her draped piano in a low sweet tone. Mrs. Norris was a lover of music and her favorite hymns were sung during the services. The casket was covered with many beautiful floral offering sent by her loving friends. Three sisters, Mrs. Alice Jackson of Kellerton, Iowa; Julia A Pryor of Bluff City, KS. and Mrs. Josephine Briley of Opolis were at her bedside when she passed away. The deceased leaves an only brother and three half brothers, an aged father and stepmother besides her husband and family of five daughters, a son-in-law and little grandson and a wide circle of friends to mourn her departure. The deceased spent 18 years of her life in Opolis where she was well known and highly respected. She was 42 years, six months and six days old.
