Description	:	Elizabeth F. Gwin was born in Holmes county, Ohio, Feb. 22, 1839, and died at her home in Brooklyn, Iowa, July 17, 1900, after a short illness resulting from paralysis. The funeral was held in the M.E. church conducted by Rev. I. N. Busby and A. V. Kendrick and interment in the I.O.O.F cemetery, a very large concourse of sympathizing friends being present to pay a last sad tribute of respect to one whom they had known and respected for many years. The deceased was married to Elias Gwin in 1857 and by this union were born five children, one of whem died in early life. Those living and in attendance at the last sickness and death of their mother were: A. F. Gwin of Colorado, S. B. Gwin of Adair, Lillie B. Strine of Waterloo and James E. Gwin of Brooklyn. Mr. and Mrs. Elias Gwin were residents of this county several years prior to their marriage and were residents of this community since 1857. He was for many years one of the prominent grain dealers of Brooklyn and was well known over much of Poweshiek county.
