MARY GRAVES Mrs. Mary Graves met with a tragic death Wednesday evening when she was out caring for her stock. She was stricken with a heart attack. Her brother, William Gibbs, of Norwood, called Friday morning and not being able to locate her called on the neighbors asking them if they had seen her. After finding out she had not been seen since Wednesday evening, the neighbors assisted him in searching for her, finding her in the pasture near an old well. The funeral services were held Sunday here at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Watts, of Norwood. Interment was made in the Norwood cemetery. Mary Eliza Graves, citizen of Lucas county for many years, passed away at her home Wednesday, April 20, 1932, at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of Nathan and Adeline Gibbs, and was born in Grant county, Kentucky, on October 30, 1856. She was united in marriage to Samuel Porter at an early date, who preceded her in death. To this union two children were born, Charles Reed Porter and Sylvia Porter. At a later date, she and the two children moved to Lucas county, where she had since resided. On Feb. 20, 1911, she was untied in marriage to William Jasper Graves, who passed away over a year ago. She leaves to mourn one son, Charles Reed Porter, of Omaha, two brothers, William Gibbs, of Lucas, and Fielden Gibbs, of Fort Dodge, and a host of other relatives and friends.
