Taylor, an old resident of the Albion neighborhood, died of cardiac dropsy Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Stoops, at Fullerton, Neb., after an illness of several months. Mrs. Taylor was born Hauser July 24, 1833, in Owen county, Indiana. She had been married twice, her first husband, to whom she was married in Indiana Feb. 7, 1853, being John H. Arney. Mr. and Mrs. Arney came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Albion. Six children were born to them, and five of them are living. They are Mrs. Harry Stoops, at whose home Mrs. Taylor died; Luther E. Arney, of Newberg, Ore.; Frank W. Arney, of Lake City; Mrs. May McRill, of near Albion; and Mrs. Josephine Redding of Des Moines. Mr. Arney died March 15, 1867, after serving three years and three months in the civil war. In November 1869, Mrs. Arney was married to John Taylor at Albion. To this second marriage two sons were born. The younger, Lewis H., died at age 14. The other son, Herbert E. Taylor, lives at Bethany, Neb. Surviving Mrs. Taylor also are two sisters, Mrs. Huldah Arney, of Parker, S.D., and Mrs. Eliza Irvin, of Whitten, Neb. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Church of Christ, having united shortly after her first marriage. The body was brought to this city this morning and will be taken to Albion, where the funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian church. The church will be open to friends at 1:30. Burial will be in the Albion cemetery.
