Description	:	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson Smith, 95, of Westfield, loving and beloved mother, grandma, and great-grandma, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at her home. She was born February 6, 1921 in Pilot Mountain, NC, to the late Coley O. and Flora L. Johnson. She was a faithful member of Westfield Friends Meeting where she was a charter member of the United Society of Friends Women, a dedicated Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher in past years, and served as treasurer of the Cemetery Maintenance Fund for many years. Read More	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson Smith, 95, of Westfield, loving and beloved mother, grandma, and great-grandma, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at her home. She was born February 6, 1921 in Pilot Mountain, NC, to the late Coley O. and Flora L. Johnson. She was a faithful member of Westfield Friends Meeting where she was a charter member of the United Society of Friends Women, a dedicated Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher in past years, and served as treasurer of the Cemetery Maintenance Fund for many years. Elizabeth was also an Avon Sales Representative for 66 years and a lifetime member of the Avon President’s Club. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law: Danne Smith of Westfield and Denise Rector and the Reverend Brent Rector of Holly Springs, NC; grandson, Brandon Rector of Lincoln, NE; granddaughter and husband, Elise and Vincent Scott of Pineville, NC; great-grandchildren: Jayla and Coley Scott, also of Pineville, NC; one brother, Reid William (Bill) Johnson of Mount Airy and several dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Daniel Woodrow Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruby and John Lynch and Irene and Brockley Lynch; sister-in-law, Genevieve Johnson; and two infant brothers. Funeral Services will be held at Westfield Friends Meeting on Thursday, June 30 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Anderson and Rev. Brent Rector officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Westfield Friends Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 33, Westfield, NC 27053.
