Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Feb 25, 1927 - pg 1 Mrs. Harvison Passes Away After Illness -- Funeral Conducted Sunday From Christian Church Mrs. John Harvison who has resided here for 41 years, passed away at the family home early Friday evening. The funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock when a legion of friends paid homage to her memory. Mary Elizabeth Harvison was born in Marshall County, Illinois, April 1st, 1863 and was the oldest of a family of fourteen children. She moved with her parents to Nebraska in the year 1881, where she was married to John Harvison, December 24, 1885, making her home in Edgar where she resided for more than 41 years. This union being childless, she reared to young manhood her two nephews, Paul E. and Francis Hattan, on whom she lavished the affection of a mother. She was converted and baptized in early girlhood and united with the Christian Church of which she continued to be a most devoted member to the time of her death. She was also a member of the Order of Rebekah. Mrs Harvison was in failing health for a number of months and quietly passed away at her home at Edgar in the early evening of Friday, February 18, 1927, aged 63 years, 10 months and 17 days. She is survived by her husband John Harvison, her foster sons, Paul E. and Francis Hattan, three brothers, Elmer, John and James Hattan, three sisters, Mrs. John Caldwell, Mrs. Geo Thomas and Mrs. John King, all of this vicinity, besides other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Harvison lived a life of real usefulness and died in full assurance of faith remarking to her pastor shortly before her passing that she was prepared for the transition, the only bond holding her to earth being her attachment to her loved ones. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church of Edgar, Nebraska, Sunday, February 20, 1927, the minister, Charles A. Shook officiating, assisted by Rev F. H. Johnson of the M. E. Church of Edgar and Rev F. J. Sanborn of the Christian Church of Clay Center, at 2:30 P. M. interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery, with Undertaker McGhie in charge.
