Description	:	Mary died tragically in the Hocking River outside White's Mill in the city of Athens, Athens Co, Ohio. Apparently, her bathing suit got caught on an old log or wire fence and she drowned at the age of 16. Mary was found three of four days later by dragging the river bottom with a hay rake that someone had taken the wheels off. Kids frequent the area to walk the dam and swim. Many family members will attest to the fact that Mary's mother's hair did indeed turn white over the night of that dreadful day.
