McCredie, 93, Grand Island, formerly of Pleasanton, who died Wednesday, December 28, 1988, at a Grand Island nursing home where she had resided for the past year were held December 30 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Pleasanton with the Rev. Jan Smutny officiating. Burial was in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Mrs. McCredie was born March 3, 1895 to Robert and Christina Canning O'Neill at Ravenna. She grew up and was educated in the Pleasanton area. She married Charles McCredie on January 7, 1913 at Pleasanton. They made their home on a farm northwest of Pleasanton. She continued to live on the farm until 1982 when she would spend winters with her families in Grand Island. She was a member of the (Catholic) church. Survivors include three grandsons, four great-grandsons and two great-great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963, daughter Margaret A., five brothers, eight sisters and infant twin siblings. Obituary found in a scrapbook belonging to June Hand.
