Description	:	Mrs Mary Woodring, widow of the late Henry Woodring of this city, died at the home of her son, W. H. Woodring, on Saturday forenoon, Jan. 9, after a long illness, her death being due more to the frailities of old age than to any definite form of sickness. She was about eight-six years of age. During the earlier years of life Mrs Woodring was active in church and social circles and in all movements which she considered were for the betterment of the local M.E. church and also was affilited with a number of the prominent orgainzations of our city. Mary Elizabeth Peck was born at Sheffield, Berkshire County, Mass., on Dec. 13, 1840, and died at the home of her son in Waverly Jan. 9, 1926, at the age of 85 years and 27 days. Her parents were Anson and Elizabeth Allen Peck, and she had two sisters, both now dead, and seven brothers, three of whom are living. They are Anson and Frank Peck of Waverly and James Peck of Watonga, Okla. When she was but a young woman her parents moved to Durand, Ill., where she was married July 10, 1865, to Henry Woodring of Waverly, Iowa. They came immediately to Waverly where Mr. Woodring was already established in the furniture business and where she has resided ever since. Five children were born to this union-three daughters who died in infancy and two sons who survive their mother. They are William Henry Woodring of this city and James Anson Woodring of Timber Lake, S.D. She is also survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs Nina Grawe, by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
