Constantine died from wounds he received in the Civil War, and she was remarried to William John Culler on December 20, 1885 in Surry County, North Carolina. Read More	Daughter of Henry and Polly (Hunter) Scott. Mary Elizabeth (Scott) Culler, was first married to Constantine Winston Culler, on October 21, 1858 in Surry County, North Carolina. Constantine died from wounds he received in the Civil War, and she was remarried to William John Culler on December 20, 1885 in Surry County, North Carolina. In the 1860 census, Constantine Culler, and his family were living in Pilot Township, Surry County, North Carolina. He was listed as, Constantine Color, a tentant, age 23, born in North Carolina, and his wife, Martha, age 18, born in North Carolina, and their son, John, age 1, born in North Carolina. Constantine W. Culler, served in the Confederate States of America Army during the Civil War. He enlisted at Surry County, North Carolina, as a Private, on July 15, 1862, in Company I, North Carolina 21st Infantry. He died on July 5, 1863. His Regiment fought at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 1 through the 4, 1863, and he may of died from wounds he might of received in battle. NOTE--in the marriage records to William John Culler, they have her first name as Martha. According to her death certificate her full name was Mary Culler, a white female, and a widow. She was born October 5, 1842 in North Carolina, and died June 30, 1917 at 5:00 p.m. in Shoals Township, Surry County, North Carolina. Cause of death was Paralysis due to cerebral hemorrhage, and other contributor were heart trouble. Her parents were listed as, Henry & Polly (Hunter) Scott. Burial was listed as being in Shoals Cemetery. The informant was J. H. Culler of Shoals, North Carolina.
