Description	:	JEFFERSON — Mary E. Stasny, age 90, lifetime Jefferson area resident, died late Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, 2015, at Jefferson Healthcare Center. She was born April 4, 1925, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Regner) Stasny and had been an area resident all of her life. Ms. Stasny was a graduate of Jefferson High School and worked many years as secretary in the Ashtabula County Prosecutor's Office. She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, where she was involved with the Altar & Rosary Society, taught CDC religious education for 15 years and sang in the choir.... She was born April 4, 1925, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Regner) Stasny and had been an area resident all of her life. Ms. Stasny was a graduate of Jefferson High School and worked many years as secretary in the Ashtabula County Prosecutor's Office. She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, where she was involved with the Altar & Rosary Society, taught CDC religious education for 15 years and sang in the choir. Ms. Stasny served 12 years on Jefferson Village Council. Mary enjoyed Jimmy Stewart movies and bowled in her younger years. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, Christine Finney of Jefferson, Carolyn Bovee of Kingsville, Joelen Kline of Olathe, Kan., William Stasny, James Stasny of Jacksonville, Fla., Edward Lawrence of Chardon, Ruth Fink of Mooresville, N.C., Linda Loehr of Westlake, Ann Nye of Bridgeport, W.Va. and Mary Bagnall of Conneaut. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Joseph Stasny; and a sister, Elinor Lawrence. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9th, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. John Sheridan officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed.
