Description	:	Mary Elizabeth Taylor, age 94, a longtime resident of the Taylor Century Farm in rural Morning Sun, died Friday, October 20, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Mary Elizabeth had moved to the Kerr Apartments in the UP complex in Washington in 2000 and then has lived with her cousin, Marcy Gerst-Meeker in Columbus Junction since August of 2016. She was of the Presbyterian faith and had taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker and farmed with her brother George on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing and playing the piano. Her family includes cousins, Marcy Gerst-Meeker of Columbus Junction and Josephine Henry of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George; and cousins Ruth Taylor and Pat Pettis. A private family funeral at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello along with burial at the Elmwood Cemetery has occurred. Rev. Dr. Chris Hinkle officiated the gathering. Memorial gifts will benefit the United Presbyterian Home and the Congregate Meals of Columbus Junction.
