Description	:	Mary Elizabeth Tolle was born July 11th, 1837, near Glasgow, Barren county, Ky., and died September 14th, 1919, aged 82 years, 2 months and 3 days. She was married on October 25th, 1860 to Robert F. Burch. They moved to Iowa in 1869, from there to Kansas in 1870, where they took up a homestead near Roxbury. She was married on October 25th, 1860 to Robert F. Burch. They moved to Iowa in 1869, from there to Kansas in 1870, where they took up a homestead near Roxbury. To this union was born seven children, Hezekiah S. Burch, who died at the age of two years in Kentucky. Those living are Augustus T. Burch, Robert A. Burch, Jerome P. Burch, W. Frank Burch, Ishmael A. Burch, Ora E. Burch. Her husband died 32 years ago on this homestead where Grandmas at her death had lived 49 years. When a child eight years old she united with the M. E. Church and continued in that church until in November 1881 she brought her membership and placed it with her husband in the Primitive Baptist church at Canton, Kansas, where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was always a kind friend and neighbor; devoted to her family and home, where she loved to see her children and grandchildren come. She leaves to mourn her death her six sons, their wives, thirty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, at Roxbury, Monday afternoon, at 2:30, Rev. S. I. Ward conducting the service. Interment was in the Eureka cemetery, beside her husband. There was a large attendance and many floral pieces from friends decorated the casket. The McPherson Daily Republican, McPherson, Kans. 9-22-1919.
