Description	:	Mary Elizabeth Vinson Shope, 87, of N. Blaine Branch Road, Franklin, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at local nursing home. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. J.I. and Callie Peek Vinson. She was married to the late Brownlow Shope, who died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Margie Norton Pitts, Blanche Howard, Myrtle Norton Vinson, Hazel Pickins and an infant sister; one brother, Sexton Vinson. Blaine Branch Road, Franklin, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at local nursing home. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. J.I. and Callie Peek Vinson. She was married to the late Brownlow Shope, who died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Margie Norton Pitts, Blanche Howard, Myrtle Norton Vinson, Hazel Pickins and an infant sister; one brother, Sexton Vinson. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Grady Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Ga. She was a retired registered nurse for Angel Medical Center for 15 years where she was the founding director of Angel Home Health Agency. During WWII, she served in the Army Nurse Corp on the SS Erenstine Koranda Hospital Ship. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Clark Shope and wife Ellen of Franklin and Dr. Stephen B. Shope and wife Cindy of Pearland, Texas; four grandchildren, Jason Shope, Allison Shope, Matthew Shope, and Gregory Shope. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, with Revs. Alton Dendy and Harold Ball officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers
