The Seymour Herald, June 3, 1926, p. 1: "MARY E. CLEMENS PASSED AWAY Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Clemens passed away at her home on Main street Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several months duration. She was 81 years, 5 months and 2 days of age. Mrs. Clemens and her husband, the late H. W. Clemens, came here from Illinois about twenty-five years ago, and located on a farm northwest of this city. They resided there for a few years and then moved west of this city where they resided until they moved here a few years ago. Her husband and one daughter, Frances, preceded her in death several years ago. Two children, Don E. Clemens, of this city, and Mrs. Jessie Howes of Amarillo, Texas, survive her. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church in this city Thursday, June 3, at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be in Southlawn cemetery. An obituary will appear next week."
