Garland, 62, of Keyser, went to be with the Lord quietly from her home on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001. Being a loving wife, mother, and sister, she was a member and Deacon of the Brethren Church, Keyser, and active in many ways, serving in the Sunshine Club, Nurturing Committee and a Conference Delegate. Her talents of many were used to serve her church and family. After the death of her mother in 1974, she was owner of the Green Fern Restaurant in Cumberland. Born April 23, 1939, in Oakland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Frank D. Wrightsman and Marguerite E. (Goss) Wrightsman Chaney. Surviving are two brothers, Freddy Wrightsman and wife Ladona, Bel Air, Md., Frank Wrightsman Jr. and wife Donna, Cumberland; and two sisters, Donna Pryor and husband Robert, Ridgeley, Lois Miller and husband Eugene, Cumberland. Also survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Lee Roy Garland; one son, Roger Garland and wife Kerry, Oklahoma City, Okla..; one daughter, Mary E. Shaw and husband Gary, Keyser; three step-daughters, Beverly Fox and husband Scott, Pa., Brenda Bishop, Hagerstown, Peggy Twigg and husband Rick, Short Gap; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her constant companion and pet, Barney. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dwight Ramsey officiating. At Mrs. Garland's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund of Keyser Church of the Brethren, Main Street, Keyser, WV 26766.
