Description	:	Mary Ella Griffis, 65, of Cozad died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at her home. Mary Ella was born July 27, 1946, at Concordia, Kan., to Leland and Ruby (Wallace) Buckley. The family moved to Gothenburg when Mary was 6 years old. She attended Gothenburg Public School. Mary married Jack Griffis on July 20, 1961 at Lexington. This union of 50 years was blessed with 6 children. The family lived in Gothenburg until 1991, when they moved to Cozad. Mary worked for many years at Slack's Nursing Home. She especially enjoyed the young people... Read More	Mary Ella Griffis, 65, of Cozad died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at her home. Mary Ella was born July 27, 1946, at Concordia, Kan., to Leland and Ruby (Wallace) Buckley. The family moved to Gothenburg when Mary was 6 years old. She attended Gothenburg Public School. Mary married Jack Griffis on July 20, 1961 at Lexington. This union of 50 years was blessed with 6 children. The family lived in Gothenburg until 1991, when they moved to Cozad. Mary worked for many years at Slack's Nursing Home. She especially enjoyed the young people that she worked with. Mary's favorite times were spent with family. She enjoyed reading, fishing with Jack, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She always had one in progress. Mary valued her time shared with grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Larry and Bill Gentry. Survivors are: husband; sons, Mark of Gothenburg, Jerry of North Platte and Matthew of Cozad; daughters, Kay Huffman and Catherine Sherbenaut, both of Kearney, and Donna Stuck of Powell, Wyo.; brother, Dean Gentry of Grand Island; sister, Viola Kay Smith of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, north of Cozad. NE. Published in Kearney Hub on November 8, 2011
